Fifteen  years  ago  Austin-based  collective  Los  Outsiders, comprised  of  Jaime  Salvador  Castillo,  Michael Anthony García,  Roberto  Jackson  Harrington  and  Hector Hernandez,  curated  their  first  exhibition  at  the Antigua Aduana  in  Nuevo  Laredo, Tamaulipas Mexico,  based  on the idea of art crushes. Now, for their quinceañera (15th anniversary)  the  curatorial  collective  is  once  again sharing the work of  9  artists  as  well  as  their  own  in  an exhibition  at  the  Laredo  Center  for  the  Arts  titled Artcrush:  Chai'n  Brai  Like  A  Daimon.  The title is an affirmation, born of linguistic exploration of a phrase from a Rihanna song, translated through the lens of Spanish phonetics. It is novelness from disparate elements in as much as the work in the exhibition.
